Valentine’s Day has come and gone but it will be a day I will never forget.
A few weeks ago, I decided it would be fun to put a styled Valentine’s dessert table together. Instead of the traditional red and white, I wanted colors that were bright and fun but still sweet. I found exactly what I wanted in the dollar section of Target, a roll of Valentine’s wrapping paper that was pink and teal and filled with cute little lovebirds. Inspiration can come from anywhere. I have to say, I had my daughter in mind when planning the details. She’s only one but I’m waiting for the day when I can plan little parties for her and her friends. How sweet would that be!!!
The day of the shoot was fun. It’s exciting seeing everything come to life and of course, eating everything afterward is even better. I decided that I would take a chance and submit the pictures to Amy Atlas. I was kind of nervous emailing them to her. She’s the queen of styling dessert tables and little old me, I’m just barely starting. I decided to take a chance and send them off. The worst that could happen is she won’t post them.
Valentine’s Day came and I checked her blog every hour. Ok, I’m lying, every half hour. Nothing! I was a little sad but it was ok. I decided to check one more time that evening and what do I see….my dessert table! What!!!??? Really!!!??? Someone seriously pinch me. I started doing my happy dance while my son Kenny just laughed at me. I was beyond thrilled and excited that she featured my table. I’m still a little shocked and have gone to her blog several times just to see it again.
A huge THANK YOU to my awesome brother-in-law, Miguel Vasconcellos (www.mv-photo.com), for working his camera magic and taking the photos. Here are more photos from the shoot….Enjoy!!!
